Busy Saturday
Wow! What a great day of sight-seeing. We headed toward Bardstown, Kentucky with plans of seeing My Old Kentucky Home. As we were driving there, we saw a sign pointing to a Civil War Museum. So, we decided to take a side tour. When we arrived at the Museum, we discovered that it was 1 of 5 museums within a half mile of each other. The cost for touring all 5 museums was only $10 per person. Since we could not pass up such a great deal, we bought the tickets. The Civil War Museum was really organized. It began with the battle of Bull Run, then had the other battles in the order they happened, however, these were only battles that took place on the Western front. Lots of things to see. The other museums were Old Bardstown Village, Women in the Civil War, Wildlife Museum, and War Memorial of Mid America. After the 5 museums, we made it to My Old Kentucky Home. We left there to drive a few miles to see Lincoln's boyhood home and then on to his birth place. I posted a few of the pictures I took, but as always, more can be seen on the travel photo link.
