Fort Huachuca, Arizona

I have always wanted to visit the museum at Fort Huachuca.  I was not disappointed in our visit.  We had to go through security at the base.  We had to show our driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and car registration.  The museum has exhibits and information about the Buffalo soldiers who served at the fort.

In the early years, the soldiers at the fort fought the Apaches.  It served as the supply base for the Geronimo Campaign.  The fort is still active and now serves as the US Army’s Network Enterprise Technology Command.

They had a great section of model wagons that showed the different types of wagons used by the troops.

We really enjoyed our visit to this area. The museum was great. We really enjoyed our day at the Hummingbird Sanctuary, can't remember what it was called. It's south of Sierra Vista. Lots of great hiking and birds. Wrong time of the year for the Hummers. They arrive about April 5th:)
