The Thing

As we traveled down I-8 between Wilcox and Benson, Arizona,
Gary and I have been reading the ads telling folks that they
must stop off to see "The Thing". So, this year, Gary and I
stopped. It cost $1 per person to see "The Thing"; however,
there are lots of other "Things" to see. We thought we got our
$1 worth. Sorry, I will not post a picture of "The Thing". If you
want to see it, you'll have to stop. There is a Dairy Queen there
and another store for you to browse.

Turkey Track

Turkey Track is located south of Waldron, Arkansas.
They have a Blue Grass Fesitval here in October.
Camping is available for over 3000 vehicles. We arrived on
October 1. The festival began on Oct. 13. There were
quite a few people here when we arrived. We are camped
out by the pond. Gary was able to catch brim and bass.
We are camped next to our friends Jim and Sherri Reed. Jim
plays fiddle and guitar, Sherri plays mandolin. So when we
are not fishing, watching the shows, or kicking back, we
manage to get in a little playing of our own.

Gary with one of the bass he caught.

Opie, Jim and Sherri's dog, is checking out the brim that
Gary caught.

Turkey Track golf cart parade

I cannot believe how many golf carts are here at Turkey Track.
We would sit and watch people come in pulling a golf cart behind
their trailers or motorhomes.
I can probably find every kind of golf cart ever manufactured.
Tuesday, people decorated their carts for a parade. What
a great parade. We enjoyed watching the parade and
catching the candy.

The sign says, eat beef or chicken, not turkey

This is one mode of transportation for those who do not
have golf carts.
