Fishin, birding, free country music

We are staying at the Suncrest RV resort in Moses Lake, Washington. Sure is a beautiful resort. Gary has been fishing. He is trying to catch a walleye. We were lucky in that we were able to attend the last free concert of the season on Moses Lake. The entertainers were Nashville Recording artist group Ricochet. Very enjoyable evening.

We arrived early for the concert so Gary would have time to fish.

Numerous flocks of Geese filled the sky before the concert.

The concert did not start until 8. We arrived early and were able to enjoy the equipment check and practice. Also allowed for great photo ops during the day verses the night.

This is the spa at our campground. Besides the spa, there are 4 pools. Gary has to drive about 2 miles to find a place to fish as Suncrest is not located on the lake. Suncrest used to be affiliated with Passport America, but dropped out of the system July, 2008. However, we were able to use our Good Sam discount, so our cost was $34 a night, but at least we got a site during Labor Day weekend. Tomorrow, we will move to one of our ROD membership parks which is 2 miles from Suncrest. This park is located on the lake.

Secret Camping spot

We really enjoyed out week at this secret camping spot. I promised to keep it a secret because the of the great fishing. While we were there, someone caught a 6 lb. bass, 2 people caught trout that were 20 inches long, and the blue gill were numerous. We really enjoyed watching grandmas, grandpas, and dads, teaching their young-uns how to fish. The shouting of the 4 year old boy "Dad, my fish is bigger than yours. I want to keep him", or "I got one!!!!!" Besides the fishing, bird watching was great. I missed taking a picture of the yellow-headed black birds as Gary and I were occupied playing music for the folks. We played for about 3 hours. Everytime I got ready to say that we were going to sing our last song, someone new would unfold their chair and sit down, so we kept on playing and singing. The other campers in this campground were very friendly. Kim and Kelly invited us to share their campfire and their great bacon/shrimp or bacon/scallops. If we are in our secret camping spot area, we will certainly stay again.

Kim and Kelly went through 20 lbs of bird seed the few days they were there.

I enjoyed watching the quail.

This squirrel was very busy enjoying his lunch.

If you click on the picture, you will be able to see Gary sitting on the dock fishing. The blue things are umbrellas. Gary was able to fish the day it rained and was rewarded by pulling in two trout that day.

Gary's New fishing hole

Gary found a great fishing hole right behind our campground in Newport, Washington. He is fishing on the Pend Oreille River. He took the boat out one day and was really lucky fishing that way also. While fishing, he got to see a doe with her two fawns and an osprey swoop down for it's dinner.

Time to rebait.

This fish is called a teninch (sp?). Today he caught two on one cast.
If you want a better look, click on the picture and it will get bigger.

This osprey would perch on this limb and watch for the yellow perch before sweeping down for dinner.

Hummingbirds

Our neighbors at Deer Lake had two hummingbird feeders on the back of their Montana. They had to refill them every day.
